What is the Check Off law?

As from January 2003, the total of the avocado commercialized in USA pay a tax that can only be used to promote or increase the consumption of this product within the North American market.

For the season, US$0.25/lb or US$0.625/case was established.

What is CAIA?

CAIA stands for Chilean Avocado Import Association. This is the first association of avocado importers and exporters arisen in USA. It is formed by a 95% or North American importers and a 90% of Chilean exporters, and its Board of Directors is compound by seven members. Four importers, three exporters and in addition, there are two substitute directors.

The purpose of CAIA is to develop, contract, supervise, assess and make effective every Chilean avocado promotion campaign in USA.
